It is regulated and controlled by the Employees\u2019 State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), which is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The scheme offers monetary and medical support to employee and their dependents during sickness, maternity, injury, or death caused by risks of employment.<\/p>\n<p>The Employees\u2019 State Insurance Act, 1948, requires ESI registration of establishments with 10 or more employees.
