To guarantee continued industrialization in the state, the Gujarat government, working with the Department of Industries and Mines, implemented a number of incentive programs and subsidies.\u00a0Financial assistance for obtaining national or international patent registration\u00a0was proposed\u00a0as part of the patent registration<\/strong><\/a> scheme, which is part of industrial promotions. This article examines the process for obtaining support under the patent registration system.<\/p>\n

Eligibility Criteria for Patent Registration<\/h2>\n

In accordance with\u00a0national and international laws and regulations,\u00a0any organization, institution, person, or industrial unit can receive assistance in obtaining a national or international patent.<\/p>\n

Eligible Cost of Assistance<\/h3>\n

The cost of the application form, processing fees, and any additional costs or fees paid to the relevant authority for registration\u00a0will be included in the eligible cost of assistance.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the cost of the documentation incurred to register a patent or intellectual property<\/a> rights (IPR) includes the reasonable fees paid to consultants for their advice as well as the costs associated with the preparation, industrial design, and reprography of artwork, among other\u00a0costs.<\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0assistance will be provided for each registration separately if\u00a0any unit needs to register\u00a0more than one patent or\u00a0their\u00a0intellectual property rights.<\/p>\n

Quantum of Assistance<\/h3>\n

Up to 75% of the costs incurred in obtaining patents can be reimbursed, with a maximum of Rs. 25 lakhs during the scheme\u2019s operational period.<\/p>\n

Other Conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fees paid to patent attorney and patent service centre, patent registration and equipment purchased to develop patent will be eligible (excluding travel,\u00a0hotel charges) for obtaining patent registration.<\/p>\n

Time Frame for Filing Application<\/h2>\n

The eligible applicant must submit the assistance application within a year of the date of registration of the patent intellectual property right.<\/p>\n

Applications that\u00a0are received\u00a0after the deadline or that\u00a0are discovered\u00a0to\u00a0be lacking any\u00a0information will\u00a0be\u00a0rejected.<\/p>\n
