Businesses that wish to apply for GST online should ensure that all required documents are available before starting the application. Documents Required for GST Registration for a Pvt Ltd Company

  1. PAN Card of the Company

From the above statement we can come to know that PAN card of the company is crucial for registering in GST. The PAN function as identification number of the business entity and is related to tax return purposes. In fact, GST registration cannot be initiated without a valid PAN.

  1. Business Registration Certificate or Certificate of Incorporation

This proves the company’s legal entity status. For instance, a private limited Company needs to have a Certificate of Incorporation.

  1. ID and Address Proof of the Authorised signatory

For the authorised signatory, government-issued ID proof and address proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, etc., along with utility bills or bank statements) will be required. In cases involving GST registration for NRI, additional authorisation and identification documents may also be required as per GST regulations.

  1. Business Place Address Proof

In this document, the address of the business premises is verified.

  1. Bank Account Statement / Cancelled Check

The company bank account statement or a cancelled cheque of the company’s official bank account is required to support the character and operational account legitimacy of the company. The company name and an account number should be easily visible.

  1. Digital Signature

The proof that the GST application can be submitted online is that for an authorised signatory, A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is mandatory. This increases confidence in the firm’s and company’s registration process as well as the documents required.

  1. Photograph of the Authorised Signatory

The last image and signature of the authorised signatory required to complete the registration process is a passport photograph.
