Prime Minister NARENDRA MODI launched GST into operation on the midnight of 1 July 2017. However, GST was almost two decades in the making since the concept was first proposed under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government. The development of GST took many consultations, negotiations and revisions before it was launched in its final form in 2017. The launch of GST was also made difficult by the fact that it required a constitutional amendment, and hence, a two-thirds majority approval in the parliament and a nod of more than at least half of the states.
www.gst.gov.in dashboard – GST Login, How to Login to Government Goods & Services Tax (GST) Portal Dashboard in India. Here is the online GST tax login procedure from the government of India’s website.
GST is applicable to the supply of goods or services or both. Article 366(12) of the Constitution defines goods as all materials, commodities, and articles. With the introduction of Goods & Service Tax in India, several businesses have come under the tax bracket. With a huge number of GST-registered persons/ businesses in the country, the introduction of GST portal login right from the beginning of the GST era has proven to be useful for all registered persons. This portal facilitates the undertaking of every process and procedure that a registered person needs to perform. This starts from filing regular GST returns and extends till applying for a refund in case an excess tax credit is available.
GST is an indirect tax payable by the suppliers of certain goods and services. As a business, you may also claim a refund on the GST you paid yourself when you purchase input materials from suppliers. However, this will not apply if the input purchased is used to produce input-taxed goods and services. The GST Common Portal has been made available to enable taxpayers to enroll with GST and meet GST compliance requirements, such as filing returns and making tax payments. In other words, Goods and Service Tax (GST) is levied on the supply of goods and services. Under the GST regime, the tax is levied at every point of sale. In the case of intra-state sales, Central GST and State GST are charged. All the inter-state sales are charged to the Integrated GST. Also, Section 15 of the CGST Act states that the employer and employee are deemed to be related persons. Thus, a supply made by an employer to an employee is liable to GST even if it is made without consideration (except gifts up to Rs. 50,000). So, the new GST login does not apply to employee remuneration.
