Several documents are essential when new GST registration for a partnership firm to confirm the details of the firm, partners, and the way of doing business.
Here is the list of the GST registration documents that are required in case of a partnership firm:

1. PAN CARD of the partnership firm
The PAN number card of the partnership firm is required for GST registration process. It is compulsory for tax identification.
2. Partnership Deed
The partnership deed contains the names of partners, profit sharing ratios, etc., which form an agreement of understanding of the partnership’s business format. All the partners must sign on the deed.
3. Aadhaar Card of Partners
To access the portfolio, the Aadhaar card of each partner is mandatory for identification purposes. It is necessary while registering for GST.
4. Business Address Proof
Acceptance of the application also requires that the applicant attaches proof of the business address to prove where the firm operates from. Acceptable documents include:
- Rent agreement (if rented)
- Basic utilities such as electricity, water and phone bills
- Property tax receipt
- Municipal corporation receipt
5. Bank statement / Bank passbook
The basic documents to be submitted for the identity and address proof of the partnership firm is a bank statement or the passbook of the firm, which has been obtained within the period of three months.
6. Photographs of Partners
Currently, it is required to attach recent passport-sized photos of all partners at the registration stage.
7. Copy of the Business registration documents, if any
The other licenses and registrations, which the partnership firm owns, like MSME or trade license, should also be tendered.
8. Authorization Letter
In the case that an individual who is not a partner is applying for the GST registration, there is the need to attach an authorization letter from the partners.
